Nichole Dunmeyer, president

  Nichole Dunmeyer  

Nichole R. Dunmeyer is the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Charleston Water System in Charleston. She is a licensed insurance adjuster in the state of South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and the University of Charleston with a Masters of Public Administration degree. She also holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston.


Chip Timmons, vice-president

Chip Timmons is the Risk Manager for the City of Columbia. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Masters of Public Administration degree and a Bachelors degree in political science.


Brian J. Teusink, treasurer

  Brian J. Teusink  

Brian is the Chief Administrative Officer for The Risk Authority. He is responsible for overall management of TRA's South Carolina operations and for ensuring that TRA's mission is carried out. He also serves as president of Palmetto Hospital Trust, Palmetto Healthcare Liability Insurance Program, and Preferred Healthcare Liability Insurance Program SPC, a Cayman Islands-domiciled Class B insurance company. Prior to joining TRA in 1992, Brian worked for a major life, accident, and health insurance company, and an international public accounting firm. Brian has a Bachelors' degree in Business from Western Michigan University.


Sara Delk, secretary

  Sara Delk  

Sara Delk is the Supervisor of the Employee Resource Center for SCANA. She has been with them for 20 years. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she obtained a B.S. in Exercise Science.


Walt H. Barefoot

  Walt Barefoot  

Walt Barefoot is an attorney with McAngus, Goudelock & Courie. His practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense. Having focused on workers' compensation defense since 1991, Walt has experience defending carriers and employers in South Carolina, and works with all types of claims. He regularly tries cases before the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission, and has also tried cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Walt works closely with his clients to provide the best and most efficient service possible. Walt graduated from Wofford and received his JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law.


David Benenhaley

  David Benenhaley  

David Benenhaley is senior safety specialist at Santee Cooper Power. He is president of the South Carolina chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and serves on the board of directors of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association.


David Hill Keller

  David Keller  

David Hill Keller, of Counsel to Turner Padget Graham & Laney, was awarded a BA from the Houston University and a JD degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. After graduation from Law School, David served as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Supreme Court and as staff attorney for the South Carolina State Accident Fund. A frequent lecturer on workers' compensation law, he is a member of the South Carolina and American Bar Associations and served one term as editor of the Workers' Compensation Volume of South Carolina Jurisprudence. He is a past President of the SC Employers' Advocacy Association, a two-time chairman of the Greenville City Planning Commission currently serving as vice-chair, delegate to the Anglican Church in North America's Provincial Council and a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the South Carolina Army National Guard.


Kay Kiser

Kay Kiser is an Account Executive with The Directions Group, an EK Health Services Company. The Directions Group is a leading national managed care company specializing in nurse case management, UR and bill review, MSA'S, vocational rehabilitation, vocational litigation and consulting and life care planning. We are transforming managed care and making people's lives better by subscribing to a strong return to work program supported by customized programs and services, elected medical providers, and propriety technology. She is a graduate of USC- Coastal Carolina and holds a BS in Business Administration and Finance.


B. Gibbs Leaphart, Jr.

  Jay Metts  

Gibbs focuses his practice in the area of workers’ compensation defense. Since 2005, Gibbs has represented employers, carriers, and self-insured employers. He has practiced before the state trial courts, appellate courts, and South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission. In addition to being a board member of the South Carolina Employers Advocacy Association, he is a member of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association and the National Workers’ Compensation Defense Network. Gibbs receive his BA from Wofford College and was awarded his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.


Jay Metts

Jay Metts has served as the Human Resources Director for McEntire Produce since 2012. Prior to this he was the Manager of Human Resources, Safety and Environmental Affairs for Hardaway Concrete Company for 31 years. While at Hardaway, he served as Chairman of the Safety Committee for the Carolinas Ready Mix Concrete Association (North and South Carolina) for 3 years; and served as Chairman of the Environmental Committee for 3 years. Jay is PHR (Professional in Human Resources), HRCI, SHRM-CP certified, and is a member of the National and Columbia Society of Human Resources and the National Safety Council. He holds a BS in Business Administration, Accounting, from the University of South Carolina.


Reneka Prynkiewicz

  Reneka Prynkiewicz  

Reneka has served as Account Executive for Concentra Medical Centers since 2011. In this role, Reneka works as a consultant with employers in both Charleston, and around the country, to design best-in-class occupational medical programs.


Heather Ricard, CPA

  Heather Ricard  

Heather Ricard has been with the Municipal Association of South Carolina since 2005 and was appointed as the Director of Risk Management Services in March, 2012. She previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Risk Management programs of the Association and directed the financial accounting and reporting functions for the SC Municipal Insurance Trust, SC Municipal Insurance and Risk Financing Fund, SC Local Government Assurance Group and SC Other Retirement Benefits Employer Trust.

Before joining the Association, Heather served in various accounting positions with the City of Vacaville, California, and worked with the city for almost nine years. She is a CPA and graduate of the University of South Carolina. Heather also received her master's in business administration from California State University.


Andrew Walker

Andrew Walker has been with BMW MC for nineteen years. For the first thirteen years, he was responsible for Occupational Safety and currently leads their Disability Management activities which includes Occupational Health, Short Term Disability, and Workers' Compensation. Prior, he was a compliance officer with the NC Department of Labor's OSH Division. He received his B.S. in Environmental Health from East Carolina University and his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina. He maintains both Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional certifications.


Tosca Walls

  Tosca Walls  

Tosca Walls is the Director of TPA Operations at Companion Third Party Administrators, LLC. Tosca holds a BS in Business Administration (Finance) from Austin Peay State University. She has earned the Association in Claims (AIC), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) and Certified Workers' Compensation Professional (CWCP) designations. Tosca currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association.


Patrick Wheeler

Patrick Wheeler is the Workers' Compensation Analyst for Volvo Car US Operations. He graduated from South University with a Bachelor of Health Science and holds both the Workers' Compensation Specialist and State of South Carolina Specialty Designations (SCWCS). Mr. Wheeler is also a candidate for the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation, with pending conferment in early 2019.


Mike Chase, legal advisor

Mike Chase is a shareholder and 28 year member of the nationally recognized Workplace Law Group at Turner Padget, providing practical counsel to businesses across the state. Chase helps lead Turner Padget's workers' compensation defense practice. His primary role is defending workers' compensation claims, representing employers, carriers and self-insured clients throughout South Carolina. Mike works closely with the Firm's employment law specialists where Workers Compensation and Employment Law issues overlap. Devoting his practice to workers' compensation defense and mediation, Mike is approved panel counsel for most workers' compensation carriers and TPA's conducting business in South Carolina. His current client focus is with large accounts, while simultaneously managing a volume of work for carriers, TPA's and self-insured employers. His clients include hospital systems, national big box stores, power companies, restaurant chains, package delivery services, produce processors, manufacturers, regional HVAC contractor/service providers, telecommunications providers, grocery store chains, trucking and transportation companies, distribution facilities, retail outlets, and construction firms.
